The Rick Morse Scholarship
Rick Morse.png

Richard Dunn Morse, a dedicated advocate for environmental policy and an ardent lover of the outdoors, passed away in 2016. He dedicated 32 years of service to the New York State Assembly, actively contributing to significant initiatives such as the Superfund legislation. Morse was deeply engaged in outdoor pursuits, including backcountry and alpine skiing, sailing, running, and competing in Ironman triathlons. Music held a special place in his heart since his youth, serving as a perennial source of happiness and inspiration.  In remembrance of his legacy, an annual Award Fund was established in Morse's honor. This fund aims to celebrate his passions by granting $500 awards each year to students enrolled in colleges or universities within the Adirondack Region. Recipients share Morse's enthusiasm for environmental policy, music, and outdoor activities, perpetuating his spirit and values within their pursuits.

Congratulations to the Rick Morse Award Winners!
